Formerly The Parrotlet & Parakeet Genetics Pages. This web site is dedicated to teaching beginner genetics to bird breeders & owners. I started creating these genetics lessons after I met a group of parrotlet breeders and pet owners who wanted to learn more about genetics, but had never had it explained to them in an understandable way. A lot the information out there is incorrect, not properly explained, or given in a format even a geneticist would have trouble following. That is where I came in. I try to explain concepts (such as colour mutations) in the simplest possible way while at the same time explaining each step and showing what is happening through charts or pictures. I hope people learn something from these pages and I will continually update them whenever I come across some new information or a new topic is requested.

The original Parrotlet & Parakeet Genetics Pages were lost in a server meltdown by my old web site provider so I am working at replacing and updating the web site as time allows.
