About Pheasant Ridge

We are located near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and sell birds across Canada. We have been raising pheasants for over 40 years. We are the biggest breeders of ornamental and endangered pheasants in Canada.  We are dedicated to the conservation of all species that we raise and preserving genetic diversity in the captive population.

A few facts about Pheasant Ridge:

• For all species, we have between 3 - 9 breeding pens of birds so that we can produce unrelated pairs for sale.

• We do not sell eggs or unsexable chicks (reputable rare pheasant breeders will not sell either).

•  Most species of pheasants are sexable in July - September and at that time, are ready to be sold and go to their new homes. Blue & Brown Eared take longer to sex (typically October - November).

• All birds sold are wing tagged, sexable, and defect free (unless otherwise stated since we do sell birds with minor defects for a reduced price).

• All of our pheasants are wing tagged so we can supply the consumer with unrelated pairs (eggs are marked with the pen number, put in individual hatching baskets to hatch, and wing tagged as soon as they come out of the incubator). Wing tags have our last name and year engraved on one side and the species code, species pen number, and chick number hatched off of that pen engraved on the other side.

• We no longer ship by air due to reduced flights out of Edmonton, expensive and difficult to make shipping containers, and shipping prices skyrocketing.

• We no longer raise quail or partridge.

• We do not sell Ringneck Pheasants.
